Planning an End-of-Year School Foam Party in Rochester
To plan an end-of-year school foam party, book early: request your date as soon as you have one. For a whole school, choose the Large Foam Experience (over 50 guests). Confirm a rain plan, an open outdoor space with power and water, and staff to supervise students.
Why a foam party works for a whole school
The last weeks of the school year are crowded with concerts, award assemblies, and field days. A foam party gives every grade one shared celebration, and it asks very little of students beyond showing up in clothes that can get wet.
Foam also works across ages. Younger students can play near the edges while older students head for the thickest part of the foam. Nobody needs a skill, a team, or a turn at bat to join in.
One school put it this way after its end-of-year party: “This was an amazing event for the end of the school year! We have a school of 3rd-6th graders and every single child had the absolute best time playing in the foam and bubbles! It was a different experience for most of them…” (Margaret, Hanlon Elementary School)
That last point matters. For many students a foam party is something new, and the novelty is what makes it feel like a real celebration rather than another recess.
Choosing the right package for your school
We offer three experiences, and group size is the first thing to settle. Count the students who will take part, then add the staff and volunteers who will be in the play area with them.
Both foam packages include a commercial-grade foam cannon, professionally operated, with high-end audio and full setup and cleanup. The difference is scale. The Small Foam Experience serves up to 50 people, which suits a single class. The Large Foam Experience serves groups of over 50 guests, and we customize the number of foam cannons to fit your event. It is built for schools, camps, daycares, and community events.
The Bubble Experience is our smaller bubble line, for up to 100 guests. It brings up to 15 hands-on bubble stations with DIY wands, a pro bubble machine, special ROC bubble juice, music, and an on-site bubbleologist.
Two add-ons are worth knowing about. Color Foam comes in your choice of blue, pink, purple, orange, or green, which can be a nice nod to school colors. Glow in the Dark Foam is best at night, which makes Color Foam the more natural add-on for a party during the school day. Current pricing for every package and add-on is on our packages page.

When to book
Timing is the first thing to settle. Many schools, camps, and daycares secure their event dates early. Booking ahead gives your team time to plan and helps ensure your preferred date is available.
Booking early fits the way the school year already runs. Many schools set spring calendars and PTSA budgets early in the year, and an early request can move through the same approvals as everything else on the spring schedule.
When you reach out, have a target date and a backup in mind, an approximate head count, and your time window. If your date is coming up soon, ask us about it anyway.
Your end-of-year foam party planning checklist
Use this list when you bring the idea to your principal, PTSA board, or planning committee. Each item is something we will ask about, or something your families will.
- Date and rain plan: choose a date and a backup. Events go ahead in light rain or wind. If we cancel because of unsafe weather, such as lightning or high winds, all payments, including the $50 deposit, are refunded or applied to a future event date.
- Outdoor space: an open area with room for the foam, plus space along the edges for students to wait and watch.
- Power and water: note the nearest outdoor electric outlet and water spigot, so you can show our crew where they are when we arrive.
- Schedule: the grades taking part, an approximate head count, and the time window on your bell schedule.
- Permission slips and family notes: whatever your school requires for special activities, plus a note home about clothing, towels, and a change of clothes.
- Staff supervision: teachers and aides assigned to watch students for the entire event, while our crew runs the equipment.
- Drying off and changing: a plan for where students dry off and change before they head back inside.
How the day runs, and who does what
On the day, the work divides cleanly. Our crew arrives with the commercial-grade foam cannon and high-end audio, sets everything up, and runs the cannon and the music. When the party ends, we handle the full cleanup and pack up our equipment.
Your staff supervise the students from start to finish. That includes deciding when students enter the foam, keeping an eye on the edges, and walking classes to and from the play area. Teachers know their students, and the day goes best when the adults students already listen to are the ones on duty.
Your bell schedule shapes the rest. Lunch periods, specials, and dismissal all limit when students can be outside. Tell us about those fixed points when you book. We would rather hear about them early than find out about them on the day.
A few small decisions make the day smoother for your staff. Decide in advance where classes line up, where students leave bags and shoes they want to keep dry, and where they gather afterward. Some students run straight into the foam, while others like to watch from the edge for a few minutes first. Both are fine, and a clear waiting area makes room for each.
What to tell families before the party
A short note home a week or two ahead answers most questions before they reach the front office. It also gives families time to pack the right clothes.
Clothing comes first. Students should wear a swimsuit or clothes that can get wet, and shoes that can get wet too. A towel and a full change of clothes in a labeled bag make the walk back inside much easier. Swim goggles are a good idea for younger students who do not like foam near their eyes.
Some families will ask about the foam itself. Our foam is non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and biodegradable. If a family has a specific question, they can raise it with the school, and you are welcome to pass it along to us.
Finally, let families know that playing in the foam is a choice. Students who would rather watch can enjoy the music and the celebration from the edge with their class.
