Renting a Foam Cannon vs. Booking a Foam Party

With a foam cannon rental, you pick the cannon up from us or have it delivered, then run the foam yourself. A booked foam party adds our crew to operate the cannon, plus high-end audio and full setup and cleanup. Choose by how much of the work you want.

What renting a foam cannon from us looks like

Foam cannon rentals are new at ROC in the Bubbles. The rental is $350 for a full day. You pick up the foam cannon from us in Brighton, or have it delivered, and run the foam at your own event. We charge $3 per mile for the round-trip distance between our location and your event, and the deposit is 50% of the rental, with the rest due at pickup or delivery.

One detail is still worth a quick question before you commit: what the cannon needs from your site. Send us a note through the booking form or give us a call.

Here is what comes with the rental:

  • Foam machine
  • 2 hours of foam solution
  • Tripod
  • Water bin and pump
  • Hose
  • Extension cord
  • Easy-to-follow instructions

Our rental terms

A rental puts our equipment in your hands for the day, so it comes with a few terms. Renters must provide a valid photo ID, be at least 18 years old, sign a rental agreement and waiver, and accept responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to the equipment beyond normal wear and tear. Equipment must be supervised and operated according to the provided instructions.

The deposit is 50% of the rental, and the rest is due at pickup or delivery. Color Foam and Glow in the Dark Foam can be added to a rental as optional add-ons. Foam with Colored Lights is not offered on a rental.

What you take on when you rent

A rental hands you the equipment and the job of running it. For some hosts that is the appeal. For others it is the catch, so it helps to see the work laid out before you choose.

Someone has to stay with a foam cannon the entire time it runs. That person aims it, paces the foam, and pauses it when the play area gets too full or the guests need a break. At a birthday, the job usually falls to a parent who would otherwise be enjoying the party.

You also supervise the guests, as you would with any backyard activity. That part is the same with a booked party: the host always watches the kids, and our crew runs the equipment. With a rental, here is what else usually becomes yours:

  • Running the cannon: aiming, pacing, and stopping the foam for the whole party
  • Music: a speaker, a playlist, and someone to manage both
  • Setup: choosing a flat, open spot and getting the cannon ready to run, with our easy-to-follow instructions
  • Cleanup: packing up, tidying the play area, and getting the cannon back to us
  • Timing: deciding when the foam starts, how long it runs, and how it fits around cake and presents
  • Transport: picking up the cannon in Brighton, unless you have it delivered

What a booked foam party handles for you

A booked party moves that work onto our crew. Every foam package includes a commercial-grade foam cannon, professionally operated, with high-end audio and full setup and cleanup. We arrive, set up, run the foam and the music for your event, and pack everything away afterward. Setup typically takes 30-45 minutes depending on the event location and package selected. Setup and takedown time are included and do not reduce your foam party time.

The Small Foam Experience is for up to 50 guests. The Large Foam Experience is for groups of over 50 guests, and we customize the number of foam cannons to fit your event. Each package covers a first hour, and you can add hours for a longer event. Our cost guide lays out the numbers for both.

One Brighton parent described her party this way: “…The setup was amazing, the foam was a huge hit, and the kids are still talking about it!” (Hope, Brighton) With a booked party, the setup is ours, and your attention stays on your guests.

Foam packages can also take our add-ons. Glow in the Dark Foam brings UV glow foam and UV black lights, and it is best at night. Color Foam comes in your choice of blue, pink, purple, orange, or green. Foam with Colored Lights adds LED lasers, glow bars, and colored light effects. Add-ons can be combined, so Glow in the Dark Foam and Color Foam can run at the same party.

Rental, Small Foam, and Large Foam side by side

The table lines up the three options, with the rental's own terms in its column. Prices for the two foam packages are in our foam party cost guide.

One row reads the same in every column. Whichever option you choose, the host supervises the guests. Our crew runs the equipment at a booked party; it does not replace the adults watching the kids.

A rental fits when…

A rental makes sense when the jobs listed above sound like part of the fun rather than a chore. It tends to suit hosts in these situations:

  • You have an adult who is happy to run the cannon for the whole party
  • You already own a good outdoor speaker and a playlist your guests will like
  • You like the idea of running the foam on your own schedule
  • Your guest list is short and easy to keep an eye on
  • You are comfortable picking up equipment and returning it on time
  • A full day, pickup in Brighton or delivery by the mile, and a 50% deposit work for your plans
  • You are at least 18, can show a valid photo ID, and are comfortable signing a rental agreement and waiver

A booked foam party fits when…

A booked party suits hosts who would rather spend the hour with their guests than with the equipment. It is usually the better match in these situations:

  • You want every adult free to watch the guests, not the cannon
  • You are hosting a school, camp, daycare, or community group
  • Your group is large: over 50 guests, with foam cannons customized to your crowd
  • You want high-end audio without bringing your own
  • You would rather not handle setup, cleanup, or transport
  • You want Foam with Colored Lights, which is not offered on a rental

How to decide between renting and booking

Start with who runs the foam. With a rental, that person is you or another adult at your party, for as long as the foam is on. If someone in your circle would enjoy that job, a rental can work well. If every adult is already spoken for, a booked party solves the problem.

Next, compare the full cost of each option, not only the headline price. Our cost guide lists the rental and package prices side by side. A booked party adds our crew, high-end audio, and full setup and cleanup. Whether that is worth it depends on what those jobs would cost you in time, gear, and attention. For a rental, start with the $350, and add delivery if you need it: $3 per mile for the round-trip distance between our location and your event.

Then think about the group. A family birthday with a short guest list is the natural home for a rental. Schools, camps, daycares, and community events are different. They bring more children, more adults to coordinate, and less room for an afternoon spent learning new equipment. Organizations often book early, so if you are planning for one, request your date as soon as you have it in mind.

Last, picture the day itself. If you want to be in the photos rather than behind the cannon, book the party. If running the foam sounds like the best seat in the yard, rent the cannon. Either way, send us your date and your questions through the booking form, and we will help you work out which one fits.
